Moshspace.com Server Upgrade

Has begun.

Hey what's up?

There are two methods of moving server listed. The first one didn't work and I nearly had a heart attack. The second way seemed to go off without errors. I had to change a few other settings in this new server control panel that I hope I didn't fuck up. I don't want to go near anything by means of SSH access because I'm afraid something will go wrong. And then I did have to change the nameservers. I'm not really sure if everything will be alright, we'll see when the new nameservers resolve. Whenever I've dealt with this shit, things have always updated within a few hours, but it's always quoted as taking anything up to 48 hours.

Yo, the site is now showing up a list of directories as far as I know. Any chance some of that is info that people shouldn't be seeing?

Nah I think it's alright. It's only the directory names, you can't see any files. Not at the moment anyway.

I was having all sorts of trouble getting the files to where they should be and then I had to practice. Neither "normal" way to backup and restore worked anyway, it seemed to copy the databases fine, which is what's important in terms of not losing posts and shit, but in terms files, it only replicated the folders that have subdomains attached to them and no files at all, it seems. I did some lookng and this seems to be a problem related to the fact that there wasn't enough space left on the previous hosting package to fit the site as well as its full backup.

I had to try to work out how to get shit moved by using the wget command using SSH and a command line and I managed to get it completely wrong twice. I managed to get the all the files on the new server... but they're in a folder http://www.moshspace.com/207.210.105.96/public_html instead of being at http://www.moshspace.com/.

For instance: http://www.moshspace.com/207.210.105.96/public_html/misc/dr_koonehattan.gif

207.210.105.96 is the old IP by the way.

When I try to move that shit a couple of folders back, it tells me I don't have permission. I'm going to try messing arounf with SSH now again.

Glenn, do you need anything from your /glenn ftp on Moshspace?
